History

Since 1992, the Lake Stevens Family Center has been working within the community to empower and strengthen every individual and family to be successful.

The program started with the initial purpose of providing basic needs access to low income families and has evolved over time.

Currently, the Lake Stevens Family Center is focusing on financial education, back to school events, increasing the capacity for developmentally disabled volunteers, and providing ongoing information and referral services.

The Lake Stevens Family Center is a part of a larger initiative by Lutheran Community Services Northwest (LCSNW) with roots in the Family Support Movement of the mid-1970s. This movement sought to build strong communities, fill gaps in programs, services and support and ensure under served communities and populations have access to those services.
